Another year raising funds for the Edmonton Public Library. This year's venue was the New Louis Hole Library located in West Edmonton at 17650 69 Avenue. After several successful years of fundraising with Books2Eat it was nice to put the new location to use and start raising money for a new public library!

As in Previous years local pastry chefs, cake decorators, and library supporters donated edible representations of literature. This years theme was Books2Film. A silent auction was held as well.

Jeffery created a 2 tiered madagascar bourbon vanilla and dutch chocolate marble cake layered with strawberry italian butter cream and a dark belgian chocolate mousse using 1 kg of callebaut chocolate. The cake layers were loaded with baja rosa simple syrup. The bottom tier was inspired by leopard print underwear and the top tier was obviously a bed with full accoutrements. The female figurine is sculpted in sugar.

This years winner's were "The Art of Cake" for their sculpture of "Horton Hears a Who" done in chocolate, and modeling chocolate, and "Whimsical Cake Studio" for their representation of "Julie and Julia". Good works were done by all 20 participants and it's nice to see the contributions grow and the quality of the entries escalate every year!
